By means of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2258 of 9 September 2022 (amending and correcting Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin), the previously applicable 21-day period for placing fresh eggs on the market after laying will be repealed and replaced by a 28-day period.
